Reverse T End

Reverse T End

A new technique! I came up with this ending quite a few years ago, and taught a class on it, but it was a rather difficult process. Then I heard from a friend (and student from the class), Sandy Busby, who described how she realized an easier way to reassemble the braid. Whew! Yes it is much easier! Why didn’t I think of that?! No matter, I’m so glad she did, and shared it with me.

When might you use this?

Well, I have used it to make a handle to tack onto the sides of a basket

Also Sandy made a key fob with her technique (which is slightly different from mine) so I had to try that too. It’s an easy little project that is fun and quick. I believe this is the shortest length of braid that can be made – 4 loops or so, depending how you count them. Great way to use up little scraps!

I’m hoping to make a strip rug with this technique, and I’ll be sure to post pictures when I do.

What other ways can you come up with to use this technique? I’d love to see your creative ideas!
